Hey, that's OK with most consumers, as it keeps costs down.I did like the Launch, mainly because of the range of vehicles and systems it works with. The Chinese never develop anything themselves, they just tend to steal/take other people's work, and re-do it. No scantool manufacturer here gives upgrades for free.As with the developers, I'm pretty sure they do an OK job, it's just the Chinese (Launch) are the kings/queens of reverse engineering. Yes, in Australia, as the name would suggestHanatech gives free upgrades? Not here they don't. I could see it being damaged easily, and it didn't have a transponder key code function. The other 2 seem to be my preferred choice, as they come with long warranties, have pretty decent support, and look like well built machines.I've only got 1 month to decide, otherwise I won't be able to utilise the tax break which the government here has proposed.Any further info would be much appreciated. Only 1 year warranty. The Autoboss seemed to work OK on the few cars it was tested on, but it just felt so light, and cheap. It would lock itself and not function, unless you payed for the lifetime update deal. I do remember in the 'old days', sales reps would let you play with the scantool for a week or so.The demo's I've had so far have been with the Bosch, Launch, Hanatech and Autoboss V30.The Bosch unit didn't read immobilisers and had a nasty deal where it would be uselessif not always updated. Although I did notice the Hanatech would not communicate with a Mitsubishi Triton with the DID 4M41 engine. The majority of cars it would be used on would be Japanese, second being European. It's hard work outlaying 5+ thousand dollars for a tool that you can only use for a few minutes. Does anybody here have experience with the Hanatech Ultrascan? I'm about to buy a new scantool (first one), and I'm stuck as to which unit is the better bit of gear.I've had 30 minute demo's with both machines, and the Ultrascan looks easy to operate, and more user friendly than the Launch X431.
